These two guys are still against each other for title of best of the murderers row and they were even in their fight series. just looking for info on how the two bouts went down. Could anyone offer some info on who actually did better in their fights? I heard Burley was not in the best of shape for one of the fights at least? Also who was the more skilled and had better technique? and who should rank higher?

I could be mistaken but I seem to recall reading that Burley blame a loss against Williams on a crippling body blow he took from Curtis Shepherd in a sparring session, the effects of which hampered his performance.

Burley generally comes out of the series slighlty better being the man in the box seat at the time of the NC which was supposedly rendered without any real provication and by virtue of the fact that for the 15 round points loss he threw his shoulder in (I think) the ninth. Burley was dominating that one and had actually dropped Williams three times, but he lost five of the final six rounds to drop the decision.

    But it's even, basically.

Williams look to have a style like SRR in his very brief film. maybe Burley and Sugar would have been even themselves if they fought. Did Williams ever dominate a one of their fights clearly the way Burley did?

Supporters of Holman will say this guy could fight at 135/140.

Burley's manager blamed one of the Ezzard Charles losses on a bodyblow Burley took from Sheppard in sparring.

wow that makes his bouts with Burley all the more impressive IMO. Wonder how Williams woulda done against Sugar Ray. It would probably be like looking in a mirror fighting him.
