I'll take a stab at it ...Probably Burley on points with having the distance measured and an active left land. with Jake coming in..
Unless I've got this wrong, I dont know if Jake can land at will to the body on Burley . .He was pretty clever defensively

From what I know, I'll go with Burley. Burley did beat Archie Moore, albeit the middle weight version who wasn't the fighter he would later become.

Despite his size/natural weight disadvantage, I'll guess Burley too.

Jake's loses to Welters cum Middles is all you need to know here, compiled with Burley's feared & exploited status in general.

Burley should outpoint Jake LaMotta all day long.

    Hi Ron.
Look everybody is entitled to their own opinion, whatever the opinion is, and yours is no better or worse than the next poster, that said, to proffer Burley will not see round 8, is dare I say a little blaise, Burley was not KO,d or stopped in nearly 100 fights, as if that alone was not impressive,he fought in a era stacked with very good to ATG fighters, we all know the names, add to that LaMotta only stopped 30 out of 83 , for the life of me, can't see a scenario where LaMotta would KO or stop Burley, I am not looking for confrontation, far from it, I like your posts and they form a intelligent part of this forum, but I can't see how you arrived at your conclusion, might be the Victor Meldrew coming out in me, apologize in advance for any slight on my part.
Stay safe buddy, chat soon I hope.

Jake was too well connected to allow Burley to beat him.
