who would win head to head?

Marcel Cerdan is the most overrated middleweight in history.

    You look at his resume

Never fought the best in Europe Villemain, Dauthuille, or Mitri

Went 1-1 with the 2nd rate Delannoit

The one prime great opponent he faced, Lamotta, beat him up in the first round before the injury even happened.

    Zale was 35

Williams was 31 and the AP scored it Even in Cerdans hometown

Abrams was coming off a 4 year layoff

    Never fought Robinson

    Never fought Burley

I think Burley would win hands down. Archie Moore once said that Burley was the best he ever fought. That speaks volumes considering the caliber of fighters Moore was in with.

Eddie Futch said Burley was the best he had ever seen.

Burley easily, but he didn't ko James Toney as Marcel did ,and he didn't get to shag Edith either.

Otty's book was fine and informative. He's not a great writer but he delivered good info in a just skilled enough manner.

I am curious about the Rosenfeld book. I am definitely down to read more about Burley.

I'm reading two books rite now Zales bio by Moyle and Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink (trying to expand my horizons lol) Burleys book is after that.
I read Ottys book yrs ago didn't think it was great and gave it to a guy at work.

Didn't know that Moyle did a Zale book. I liked the Langford book a lot.

Otty needed some editing and help with tying together the narrative. It lacked a bit of backbone and didn't seem to do the subject proper justice. He got some fairly simple facts wrong (I specifically remember his misidentifying an Olympics) BUT he did have first hand knowledge of Burley. I don't wish to demean him. It was worth the read.

I occasionally listen to Jocko's podcast when I work out, when I really, really need a kick in the arse.

Moyles book was done in full cooperation with Zales family and some interviews I believe. Alot of never seen pics. I'm up to him winning the belt. I'll let you know what I think when I'm done. I got so many books trying to get to. Boxing bios topping my list. I've got a good amount if your interested in any titles let me know as I may have read it.
Jocko has an excellent pod cast. Never too old too learn about yourself while listening to him. Stand up man he is. I like his whole premise of owning up to your mistakes and learning from them.
