Mosley hit harder at lightweight? The fact he was hitting smaller men didn't have anything to do with the affect his punches had on opponents? Okay, thanks for that insight.
You are a strange guy, aren't you Italian-American? Yet you love to make topics where Italian - American fighters have little chance to win
Heres the thing: Burley would be favored by almost nearly everyone BUT......... what makes this bout fun is the one punch power of Rocky. He could be getting handily outboxed and land that one sho thats a game changer.
Then that is not objective, it is simply biased match making.SQ is a huge Marciano fan but does not let that get in the way of recognizing his faults and physical limitations.
Ahh yes! the old punchers chance. It's been my experience that 98 percent of the time the puncher gets beaten up by the better fighter
Burley was also known for a devastating right hand and its effects were shown on fighters in several divisions ,as he regularly gave weight away.Rocky rather preyed on big welters.
What elite middleweight did Graziano ever KO to prove his game changing one punch power? A 34/5 year old Zale who was ducking every legitimate MW contender doesnt count for me. So outside of a washed up Zale where is the evidence for this power being able to come into play and save the fight against a guy of Burleys ability? Ive never seen it. Its one thing to have to come from behind to KO welterweights amd lightweights (which Graziano did with alarming frequency for a supposed MW great). Entirely another thing to do that against a world class MW.
IMO, Burley was far superior to Graziano. Graziano was a wild swinging fighter who had a poor defense, a so-so chin and limited boxing skills. Aside from Zale, who beat Graziano 2 out of 3 times, the only other middleweight puncher that Graziano faced was Sugar Ray Robinson who destroyed Graziano in 3 rounds. Burley was never stopped in his pro career. Burley's record has a number of excellent wins.
