Burley...and easy right?...Too smooth, too fast, too good...BUT How about for 25 championship rounds? Just like they did it back in Ketchel's day. Pure speculation for the fun of it... Burley would cruise early for the most part, but after 15 rounds, plain ole' crazy Stanley (and I do mean insane!) is still coming after him, like something rabid...with very bad intentions. How would you cope with a maniac?
Scary matchup:scaredas: I'm from Pittsburgh and know old timers who knew and were in the gym with Burley. A true legend and one bad cat. Yet Ketchel?? Gotta admire the evident desire and power. This cat actually had the balls to go all out with Jack Johnson Sad his life ended in tragedy. Surrounding a B@#CH no less:-( I gotta go with Burley say TKO 22 Eventually accumulation has its way and Ketchel gets worn down. Yet, not without a knockdown or two of Ketchels own perhaps. Thanks for the post and causing interesting visions:yep
BIG DEE HERE= If Burley doesn`t get him before 15 rds is done Burley`s toast. as Ketchel never runs out of gas guys. NEVER EVER RUNS OUT OF GAS. WHATS WORSE HE KEEPS HIS KO PUNCH ALL THE WAY TO THE 32 RD. AFTER ALL HE KOed JOE THOMAS IN THE 32 RD AFTER A BRUTALLY HARD FIGHT.
Burley never ran out of gas either. In fact the determining factor for the speculation regarding who would win in a Burley-Robinson match up was the distance for some - Burley was seen as the 15 round fighter. I pick Burley to stop Ketchel before 15 are out though, no disprespect to Stanley who I really rate. Burley hit hard enough to stop Heavyweight fighters. He is not the puncher here but he is the counter-puncher. Ketchell's style is wrong wrong wrong wrong for Burley. KO9. Just walks onto to many hammer rights. Once Burley hits his rythym, goodnight. If Ketchel somehow makes it to the last round it will only be to have taken the worst beating imaginable from an admittedly exhausted Burley.
