Edwards is back in action on the undercard of Loma vs Campbell against his mandatory challenger Julio Cesar Martinez Aguilar.

The only thing he's going to be recounting this Saturday is his KO loss to Casimero. Because it's going to happen again. And I say that as someone who's actually a fan of Charlie.

I would be interested to know why you think that. Martinez's resume does not seem impressive. Lost on his debut and struggled to beat same fighter by majority decision later on. Also fought a lot of opponents with unimpressive records.

It is true that Martinez was impressive against Andrew Selby but I question how close to his best Andrew Selby was that night as he had had well publicised personal issues away from the ring.

A gut feeling. Martinez's record is deceptive. Most Mexicans with losing records are tough as nails and not an easy out for anyone and there's a few little tells that indicates that Martinez's power is very real. He made Martin Tecuapetla quit and Martin went 10 & 12 with Rosales, Argumedo, Melindo and Yaegashi. That's impressive. He also managed to stop Victor Ruiz in 1 round. This is the same Ruiz that went 7 rounds with Tete, 4 with Arroyo and 5 with Acosta. He also shut out Edgar Sosa when he was 5-1, that's impressive as hell. With a lot of Mexican fighters, take their losses with a grain of salt, sometimes they get stylistic mismatches early in their careers, not to mention their handlers and match makers aren't world class, so they get thrown to the wolves and its sink or swim right out of the gate, well it looks like he's learned to swim fairly quickly.

He walked down Selby, problems or not, Selby is more elusive than Edwards. Not saying a win for Charlie is out of the question. But I think it's gong to be pretty hard to keep Martinez off of him for the full 12. Eventually he'll land something big on him, hurt him, then he'll go into survival mode. Which will motivate Martinez all the more. Also Martinez is very unpredictable with his punch selection and he switches stances with the greatest of ease, so those are two other factors he's bringing to the table.
