He was a big puncher with solid offensive ability.Dangerous and carried a lot of momentum in the early rounds. He could also fight as a more methodical boxer-puncher, but tended to abandon that fairly early in his career.

weaknesses...a soft chin and bad stamina. If you could take his punches and had enough firepower to counter back. he would unravel, gas out and become easy to hurt.He was the kind of fighter who just falls apart after losing that early rounds adrenaline and sharpness.

Best period in his career was around 78-80.He was a good up and coming Flyweight then(with flaws not too readily apparent even against Laciar), but the wheels came badly off against a few tough journeyman who simply outlasted him.He did briefly pick up a title, but ultimately proved more to be a dangerous highly flawed 2nd-tier fighter, rather than strong champion material.

Magri/Laciar is another must see fight. An excellent battle, but the wrong winner.

a very good brief write up and i would strongly agree that he won his wbc tittle when he was past his best, 78-80 is for me a spot opinion of when his prime was. certainly a fighter that was mostly very exciting to watch and would of been a tv friendly fighter in his or today's era
