He was KID DYNAMITE:yep Hav'nt seen his fights since back then, seemed like he was waiting ages & ages for his shot at the title. I'll never forget though the night when he got blasted by a mexican road sweeper, the silence was eerie at the Albert Hall. You could have heard 2 flys **** up in the roof & my mate was sat front row wide-eyed & gob open along with everyone else. He was always in a battle, great entertainer, good sound boxer but as with all full-on tear up merchants yer gonna rack up the miles on the damage-meter. I'am sure he beat a dominican called mercedes on cuts stoppage for the WBC crown. He was always after some Argie who held the WBA crown called santos something, but he seemed to tread water for ever & always filled the Albert Hall. But i think the accumalation over the years due to his all out action style made for the premature end. He was a very popular figue back then & much respected & still is may i add.
really exciting fighter had power was vulnerable himself and was at his peak a couple of years before he got his tittle shot . If he had been bigger he would of made a shed load more money
Strong and clubbing puncher. Sadly, he was one of these fighters who looked to be improving his head movement and implementing defence into his game but would revert to instincts once hit. The fight with Mercedes is an absolute classic despite the cut stoppage. By the time Sot was brought over for a **** load of cash he was not only a poor matchup for Magrie but absolutely terrorised him. Magrie was briefly the 'lineal' champ' at fly by beating Mercedes :good
