Well GGG first PPV was laughed at for being 95K-105K but I truly expected more buys as this was a two for one in a world starved for boxing...Still a great card just bad timing

    $7.5m minus 35% tv cut minimum = $4.875m

    Sergey got $500k and Rosario $350k, Jermall $2m Jermell $1.75 that’s $4.6m.

on top of that you have the rest of the card circa $500k sanctioning fees testing, arena, site fees, marketing.

The show likely lost money but let’s call it breakeven at best. So essentially no one but the fighters made money. PBC and likely showtime lost money. Not a sustainable business model.

what’s not to understand. Simple math.

With the 2 for 1 GGG also wasn’t paid $3.75m for that fight.

That people paid 75 bucks for that means the fans are starved for good boxing

    Plus income from international broadcasts.

It did what it was projected to do. I don't see any screwup.

international Cut? Let’s add another 50k in revenue.

They could barely sell 100k in the US. There is no international market for this.

There’s zero evidence that they didn’t finish in the ballpark of expectations. The event was budgeted out beforehand. If it went as planned, there are no big losers.

Speculating on the 100k buy and the guaranteed money to the two main card, PBC lost money. Its just simple math on what was paid to the fighter and what they are claiming they sold. We will never know so people will speculate. And this should not have been PPV. They should have showcase these guys on Fox. It was a pretty decent fight and with people staying home they would have had millions of viewers. . Instead you had PBC barley making money or lost money trying to make this a PPV.

According to you. It’s dependent on what they expected.

No ****, yes it’s according to me. Based on the publish purse and what they said they made in PPV sales. Since PBC is very tight lip about this we do what people on boxing forums do, we talk about all things boxing. Speculating PPV sales has and is always a talking point.

Was a good card that i enjoyed but im not surprised at all.with those awful numbers, considering the environment we are in at the moment.
With so many people struggling and unable to justify paying to watch boxing, let alone with that ridiculous price ,for fighters that haven't yet proved themselves as big draws imo, especially to anybody other then the more knowledgeable fight fans.

I'm sure that number was rounded UP, in real terms it's like 88K.
It's like the ticket sales of a movie theater :zplayita:
