Jermell Charlo-Erickson Lubin super welterweight title fight likely will be scheduled for September 30.

Charlo’s second defense of the WBC 154-pound championship against the unbeaten Lubin, his mandatory challenger, is expected to be packaged for television with another 154-pound title bout between IBF champion Jarrett Hurd and Austin Trout. A site for those fights hasn’t been determined, but both bouts probably will be televised by Showtime as part of at least a doubleheader, perhaps a tripleheader.

Hurd out boxes what's left of Austin Trout like Trout did Cotto. Both men lack the power to KO each other so it comes down to who will work the hardest to win.
Charlo vs Lubin is a tough pick. I like Erickson and I think he hits the hardest and has the better technique. I would put my money on Lubin KOing Charlo in front of his brother.

Once upon a time to rise in the rankings you had to beat people in front of you but these days commissions seem to rank fighters where they perceive them to be. Lubin is the # 1 ranked and mandatory for the WBC 154 lb title without having fought anyone in the top 20. The same thing happened with Jeff Horn who went to #2 mandatory when he was ranked #4 by the WBO after beating Meuller who was ranked #14. In saying that I believe Lubin is the best SWW, one of the best prospects in the world, a future superstar and will defeat Charlo. He is very young and should not be in such a hurry at this stage of his career. I would have prefered him to take a tuneup fight now and fight Kell Brook in november. This would give him good experience, legitimise his high ranking against a top line opponent and show Brook how tough things will be at 154.

Way too soon for Lubin! Also looks like this division is leaving Andrade on the outside looking in.

If Trout comes to run, then he loses a wide UD
If Trout comes to spoil he gets ktfo

Lubin isn't ready for Jermell IMO, I'd be shocked if he doesn't get whooped and probably stopped.
Lubin is trying to jump up too many levels and Jermell is peaking

Jermell vs Hurd now thats a fight!!! Shouldn't have to watch these warm ups, and kind of pissed that Hurd didn't fight Trout this month, he is young and needs to be active. Still learning and Trout is a great low risk learning fight.

Two really good fights. Too soon for Lubin imo but he is the goods so I won't count him out totally.

September is going to be absolutely ridiculous. Choc/Sor, Cuadras/Estrada, Inoue/Nieves and Viloria/TBA all on one bumper 115 card, Benavidez smacking around Dirrell for the WBC title on the same night, Canelo/Golovkin for the 160 championship in a potential candidate for fight of the year, a boatload of WBSS quarter finals and now a 154 double header?

Backing Lubin over Charlo, kind of drawn to say he isn't ready for Charlo but a lot of people said the same about Spence Jr/Brook. Just like Spence at 147 he's among the best in his division at methodically working the body, slowing guys down and imposing his fight so I'm gonna put my faith in the brighter talent.
Can't see Hurd having too much trouble with Trout.

I think people are confusing the Charlo bros. The good one is moving up to MW the one that Lubin might fight is mediocre and was pretty fortunate just to win his paper title

... and the chance to check in on how Yarde and Dubois are progressing. I was always bound to forget something in a month that stacked.
