If you mean better by having worse movement, worse defence, no ability to counter punch, worse ring IQ then yeah he's a better version of Jacobs, lol.

Maybe Jermell can last the distance if he goes into survival mode but he's not as good as Jacobs. Being athletic and powerful doesn't equate to skills. He lost to Harrison and was lucky to get a draw vs Castano. He's a decent enough fighter but nowhere near great and does not have a hope against even a faded Canelo.

 

Nah Jacobs is a level above Charlo. Danny Jacobs is one of the most underrated American fighters of recent times.

Jermell competes at 154 and has his whole career. His body isnt adjusted to taking punches from a 168lbers and while Bivol completely outclassed Canelo he did say Canelo had good power.

Very concerned about Jermell's ability to take Canelos punches since Jermell was hurt by Castano (and probably other 154ers but I have watched like none of his fights).

Canelo either w wide UD, or possible late stoppage. This is a guy who has NOT even fought at the weight class BELOW Canelo. With MW, you tend to have a lot of guys who started at lower weights. At SprMW, it's usually guys who will be moving up HIGHER. There's a big reason the jump from 160 to 168 has always been somewhat difficult.

You understand your talking about the guy who lost to Harrison right? I also had him losing to Castano in the first fight, no shame in that, Castano can fight. I give Charlo credit for winning the rematches though, which is impressive in the case vs Castano. I think Mell would have lost to prime Jacobs, the one who fought GGG would have handled Mell easily.

 

I thought it was going to be tough fight until ‘Mall said he was fighting Canelo next… meaning Canelo is winning this fight.

Mall saying he wants to fight Canelo next doesn't mean he knows Canelo's winning. It's gonna be a tough fight, what Mall said shouldn't influence you one way or the other. He doesn't even talk to his twin brother, nor does he have a crystal ball about what will happen Sept 30 or any indication he would get the Canelo fight next.
