Another site says that Charr's test may be problematic on technical grounds and Charr is looking to have this fight in 2019. Just thought I'd bring this up because of the Miller/Dinu fight and one of them probably wanting the WBA Regular thing to be on the table as an option. Can't think of anything to say about it all tho. Anyone have any info on the Charr/Oq situation (saga)?
This is such a weird situation, it’s like some kind of Pocket dimension where time has frozen while entire landscape of the division has changed drastically around it. Funny thing is, no one really cared back when it started either.
WBA should just force them all to fight Miller within the next 3 months and get it over with. Miller could probably beat Bryan, Oquendo and Charr in 3 weeks let alone months.
Fres Oquendo forever! Anyone else old enough to remember the theme song from the TV show Family Ties...? "Well I bet we've been together for a thousand years...and I'll bet we'll be together for a million more...what would we do, baby, without us..." Long after the rise and fall of the planet of the apes, this guy will be fighting for a WBA title somewhere, perhaps with his brain grafted into a mechanical body, fighting other cyborgs... Maybe even Deontay Wilder who is apparently half cyborg on his mother's side.
What I read on another site was the WBA messed up on the B sample. The fighter has the right to be present when the B sample is tested, but WBA didn't inform Charr when the B sample was going to be tested, so on a technicality he can say the B sample is invalid as he wasn't given the opportunity to be there when it was tested. Which of course means he is exonerated if the B sample is deemed invalid. WBA are bunch of incompetent twats. This whole situation with the WBA regular belt is ridiculous. Ever since mid 2014 when Chagaev fought Oquendo it's been a comedy of errors, litigation and failed doping tests. The WBA belt is cursed. If you dare fight for the WBA regular belt you'll either fail a doping test or lose the belt to a fighter with a doping test or never get to fight it because one of the boxers will fail a doping test and all the while you have the ghost of Fres Oquendo lurking in the background trying to fight you. You couldn't make this **** up. As soon as Miller fights for the WBA regular belt you know he'll fail a test. The result of course just like with Oquendo, Browne and Charr will be questionable and Miller will later be exonerated and then forced to fight Oquendo, something else will of course prevent that, but it will be too late the curse of the WBA title will have gotten a hold of Miller's soul and he'll spend the rest of his career either not fighting Oquendo, failing doping tests or losing to fighters who later fail a doping test or have already failed a doping test.
I think we've been over this before ... but it's what they get for staging a title fight in Chechnya. I kind of remember this circular Don King thing going with the WBA with Valuev/Ruiz/Chagaev passing it among themselves. My hope is that Charr fights Oquendo, then fights Miller, thn Miller fights Joshua ... and they retire the belt after that.
