charr vs oquendo may 4th

I'd rather watch Hughie Fury. Think that summarises my enthusiasm for this fight.

There has been some garbage so called Heavyweight title fights in the past but this maybe the worst of all with champion Charr barely in the top 30 rankings.45 year old Oquendo who was a fringe contender when he lost his last fight 4 years ago but stupid boxing politics allow him to become the least deserving title challenger of all time in any weight division

 

I hope it happens. The situation with the WBA regular belt has to be sorted one way or another.

Winner fights someone of note, setting up an 'internal unification'.

May is a long way off tho, and this is like any Wilder fight that isn't sure to go ahead until both are in the ring on the night.

Maybe Tyson Fury can fight the winner at the end of the year.

 

Well I guess I could drive to this. 5 dollars at the door or a canned food donation should get me and the wife in.

 

Fres is dumb. All this inactivity will work against him. How hard is it to fight 3-4 low level guys a year?

 

That fight is a disgrace to boxing, Oquendo has been fight since before the Civil War and Charlo has nothing left either.................neither have been good fighters at any age...............So, the winner will fight Joshua?! What the hell?!

 

Lol at the fight being on Star Wars day, hopefully one of them walks into the ring as Darth Vadar surrounded by storm troopers to the sound of the Imperial death march.

Part of me still thinks this fight won't happen. I mean why hasn't Oquendo fought at all after all these years? Even a fight to stay active against a nobody would of been something but he'd basically been retired, he'll have been inactive for almost 4 years by the time the fight takes place. Is he even in shape anymore?

Even if he does show up to fight, will anyone buy any tickets to cover their purses, will anyone be willing to pay for the TV rights?

 

The other funny thing about this fight is that Charr's team assumed that Oquendo wouldn't even bother to contest the purse bid so they submitted a low offer.

They were shocked when Oquendo's team turned up and won the purse bid.

 

I refuse to believe Oquendo is even a real person
