Very interesting.....this figures show that at least in over all production boxing is a slight upswing, relative to the last 30 years.
Nice work! One possible explanation for the dip is that boxrec stopped including amateur bouts in their records at some point. Repost this in classic - it should be fun.
Between 1959 and 1979 there were no more than roughly 15k bouts per year, possibly hitting as low as 9-10k
bump if the growth continues considering population, competition could surpass that of the peak days.
