Fury would be perfect. Solis will have to win a come back fight to say he is ready to go again. He would be perfect to see again in a WBC #1 Eliminator. He'd have to bounce back with a mid major win and Chauncy would have to grab another nice win. A monster win like Fury in a 1st round elimination would be perfect. I would like to see him fight a Klitschko right now. I know he would surprise the **** out of some of these HW fans. But in a perfect wolrd he would be best served to take down a couple high quality men like Fury and Solis to earn his way there without question. I think he could definitely outclass Fury right now with his output and stamina, and huge chin. I also think that he would have a very good chance to defeat Solis anytime in the next year. Solis hasn't been training, laid up, and he never was a stealthy dude. Chauncy is in prime shape now for over 2 years straight, he should be able to exploit him. I don't speak as confidently about Solis as Fury because I rate Solis very very high among HW's. I think he would have beaten Vitali if he had remained healthy in that fight. Another factor may be the guy thinking he could take Chauncy a bit lighter than training for a championship fight. That would be a major mistake for him.
It was close to happening before with Firtha. His stock was higher then though. Fury fights lesser men. Tua fights lesser men, Barrett, all of these dudes. Welliver can't be picky. The 1st contender he catches slipping to sign to face him, he needs to take em out. In the meanwhile he has to just keep doing what he is doing, beating guys in front of him on a regular basis. Keep the wins and paychecks rolling in until the big break comes.
I 2nd that emotion. FOY Potential there too. Chris is tough as nails but I think Welliver is more skilled and can win rounds from him multiple ways.
You really are rather deluded, aren't you? Calloway has been soundly beaten (and usually KO'd) every time he faces anyone vaguely world class. That Welliver could not put away a 42 year old journeyman speaks volumes for your chap's potential. There's a reason why he isn't facing top 10 opponents, and it's not because they're scared of him...
Messler Whats up with this man love ? I can tell you from a neutral perspective that Chauncey will lose to fury chisora sexton and even rogan not to mention audley harrison and that just a british list He's below a sprott level fighter (now not his best) , hes just fighting guys worse than himself, and- caloway the all american journeyman at cruiser...?? shouldve had him out in a minute to make some kinda statement wait till he fights - a heayweight -someone that can move even a little - Shannon Briggs could kill this guy even if he was 75 years old
I recall that this Messerstick chap has previously referred to Welliver as an eight (or was it ten?) times regional champion! As if any of these regional belts mean anything at all save to give one a top 15 ranking. We all have our favourite boxer(s) but he takes it to a whole new level...
This is no big deal. Calloway is past his prime, and was never a true contender anyway. He needs tro fight a real opponent.
Surely Welliver's handlers could have matched him up with someone in the top 100 by now! They must have very little confidence in his abilities!
