Was it in Tianjin? I'd be interested to know about the numbers who attended and any further info on that front. Tianjin is a HUGE city. This may sound stupid but Audley Harrison would be a fight that would generate interest in China. Audley being marketed purely on his Sydney medal would attract attention even in the mainstream press.
You have got to be Chauncey's brother. There is no other logical explanation for this tripe. :-( Let's see if your Welliver Nation takes off. I doubt it. :rofl
Chauncy's brother would kick my arse and poke me in the butt with a mop stick. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-ho1alHBKc[/ame]
I'm not sure on attendance. Audley is very attractive with his Gold Medal. I've even heard maybe Paulo Vidoz could be a fight, a bronze medalist. I'm just an internet joker and a fan. I talk the talk, others walk the walk. But I like your ideas on Audley. He might even be beaten without him throwing a punch...I've seen it happen. LOL
I think it is very ingenious for Welliver to go to China and develop a following. If he can talk himself into a championship fight, then he is a great self-promoter. With the Nation building him up, who knows. I will not be a member, though. It good that the guy has fans. I would not want to see him fight retreads like Paulo Vidoz or Harrison. These guys are truely dinosaurs, and shame on him for even trying to take these guys on. It's picking on the elderly.
Then according to your own logic, Calloway outboxed and outworked Welliver......because Welliver got only one point from one judge against Solis. Calloway should demand a rematch, claiming short notice, not being in shape, not having the right socks on....whatever. If it's good enough for Welliver, it's good enough for Calloway. What a freaking joke Welliver is. Those pitty patty punches couldn't put away a 42 yr old retired cruiserweight :nut
Solis got whooped on early, by a fat Chauncy, 283 pounds. The judges and the refs were some c*nts that night. Solis called him on 10 days notice, Rob had 2 months. If Solis ever comes back, Welliver would probably take him handily at his current weight...233 pounds. Solis can't fight fair. He has to cheat at every turn. There is no way that man has the balls to step at Welliver on a level playing field. None of these HW's do.
Ok Messer so who do you think Chauncey strugles with in the top 20-30. Stylistically who are his worst matchups?
I don't think there is a man alive K2 through the top 25 that can knock down or knock out Welliver. But, as far as who would give him the most trouble? Tough question. K2 obviously, Helenius would be a tough fight, if Solis got into great shape that would be a very tough fight. Povetkin at his best is a real tough fight. I even think Adamek would be a rather tough fight. Chambers would be tough too. Arreola would be pretty tough too, maybe not as tough as the others. Haye, easy win. Fury, Chisora, easy wins. Tua, McCall, Holyfield types, easy wins. Dimitrenko, Meehan, Harrison, more easy wins. The guys who would give Chauncy the most trouble are the guys who have the ability to come the closest to matching his workrate. Povetkin is a serious threat because he can and will throw down all night. David Haye is a walk in the park as the man is a runner and a last 10 seconds of a round wonder. Fury is still too raw and not in good enough shape. The geezers just can't keep up.
Chauncey is below euro level you had better believe that, Fraudley Harrison would beat his ass Chauncey is an American level heavyweight
Guys like Fury have an actual roadmap going on. British and commonwealth champs, aiming for euro , into the top ten , eventually fight a champ. Chauncey has loads of fights and hes over in china fighting calloway ??? He could get a spot on a UK show but they would pay him little as their guys would ko him fast.
Messer youre funny! I liked to see him stand there in front of Tua and pump out that workrate, all those guys you listed would beat his ass.
