So youre saying that welliver is cheap and doesnt want to offer decent money to potential opponents. Whatever happened to his Chinese backers?

Not sure I agree with you there. McDermott, Gavern and Bidenko have mixed in far better company than the likes of Zumbano Love or any of Chauncy's opposition to date. McDermott was robbed against Fury, I don't think any of Welliver's opponents to date would last more than a couple of rounds against Tyson.

But yes, I agree that the likes of Arreola, Boytsov etc have really padded records and haven't really done anything to justify the hype they receive.

I'm not saying he's cheap at all. But let's look at facts. Arreola fights vs Molina and Butler for about 50K. His opponents earn about 25. Liakovich got about the same vs Jennings and vice versa. Chambers v Thompson was supposed to be for 50K each.
These seem like small purses in the grand scheme of things, but they're typical. But when Monsour and Chauncey were negotiating, there was talk of 30K to Chauncey and Monsour was willing to take 20K. But instead of that fight happening, Monsour goes and fights a Clevel guy for his 30K and Chauncey gets Mensah for IDK, about the same.

IDK....if Im a contender and Monsour offers me the lions share of a 50K purse, I probably take it. But if he can make more or the same vs a less dangerous guy.....maybe he takes the easier fight. This is a business afterall.

But will Arreola fight Chauncey for 50K. I doubt it...not when he can get 50K vs Molina. And will Welliver fight Arreola for 25K.....Probably not....not when he can fight Cooper for 40K.

I agree that these guys need to take the high road for low $$$ if they want the big bucks vs the K2, but if Rahman and Arreola can get title shots by beating Clevel guys....it only makes sense for others to follow the same path. Boystov, Arreola, Rahman, Briggs, etc etc etc.

Welliver should fight Tyson Fury, channel 5 would lap it up with his record.

First Chauncy goes spouting off that he was signed to fight McCall, then McCall "pulls out" sick and promises the fight later.....Chauncy goes on to fight 47 year old Bert Cooper and can't even put him away. I doubt McCall was ever really on.

Chauncy said that after this fight, he had Seth Mitchell locked up should he win against Witherspoon. Mitchell wins, and now....this fight with Zumbrano is on :rofl Mitchell said post fight last night he may have his next fight already lined up for September, and it's not Welliver gauranteed.

:deal I called it, Welliver promising "big fights" this year was nothing more than pure bull****. It's time for the boxing panda to be put into extinction. Too bad none of the overmatched stiffs he fights have the ability to do it.

This is a huge step upward for Chauncy. Zumbano is better than anyone Chauncy's fought before. Assuming Chauncy wins, it will garner him a moderate amount of respect and credibility.

As for the McCall, that fight could not be made in April (when Chauncy wanted it), because Oliver is close to 300 lbs and hasn't trained seriously since last year. Oliver needed time to prepare.

Chauncy was offered Timur Ibragimov in April, as a replacement for Oliver. Ibragimov was willing. But Chauncy turned the fight down on the grounds that Ibragimov is too tall.

The requirement for this fight is that a guy like Zumbano Love had to be picked. Ranked Top 15 within the last year.

And you pathetic morons who are criticizing Chauncy are some shitty HW fans. He is busting down doors in China for the HW's and creating a new and lucrative fight market to cash in on. He's bringing in more new fans to the HW Division than any other guy out there.

Love is a good step. Then Seth Mitchell in September on HBO. After that, It is Klitschko or #1 Eliminator time!

Don't worry cretins, Chauncy will do much more for his title shot than 75% of the last 3 to 4 years of title challengers. You folks will have nothing to ***** about.

    How do you know this???

My hunch from the beginning is that Monsour was bullshitting the world. I don't know that Monsour has a promoter or manager who would have offered Chauncy $30K. Do you? Tell us if so.

Even more bizarre is that Monsour would get -- as you put it -- "$30K" to fight a "C level" guy. That doesn't make any sense. No promoter would pay Monsour that much money for a "C" level fight. Most likely, the promoter would have paid Monsour $5 to $7.5K for that kind of thing.

Welliver just said on Facebook that he is fighting Seth Mitchell next...

    From Welliver:

I had a great night last night. Many good family and friends last night at Michael Howes house. Thank you to everybody who made it out. Was a fun birthday and great fights. Had my heart racing when Seth Mitchell almost went down but he weathered the storm and it looks like me and him will battle it out next.

I just checked Zumbano's record. I take back my words. The guy looks quite mediocre; he was even shut out (Lost UD) by a non-entity in an 8 rounder earlier this year. A few years ago he was even beaten by Basile. Zumbano doesn't look like much at all.

Mansour was a liar and also lied about them being able to fight for Wlad's WBO interim HW Title....Chauncy said prove that we can get an interime match and I am there.

That fight card they were promoting in Deleware never came off. What they had done was secure a CW title shot against that guy King has and kept n the shelf for quite awhile...his name eludes me now. But then their plans went to **** for some other stuff.

They were just trying to ride the Chauncy Hype Train a little ways down the tracks for cheap.

So, not ranked now, but ranked within the past year?

Ibragimov was ranked WBA #14 as recently as July 2012. I sense double standards here.
