Interesting that keyboard warriors can talk this much smack to a top 10 HW contender. I bet if you were in person you would be a bit more respectful.

Welliver's not getting those higher level, "B" level fights because he is self-promoted. Welliver doesn't have the resources to pay one of those tough, gatekeepers to fight him. The only way Welliver would be able to fight someone in that category is if a rival/hostile promoter paid Welliver to fight the tough, "B" level foe. Of course, Welliver would be crazy to accept such an offer, because he'd get robbed.

If you look at it this way, you can see why Welliver's victories are all over "C" level guys. Those are the only ones he can afford to pay as opponents.

I didn't realize this myself (about Welliver) until recently, and it's changed my thinking. I'm guessing we can't really blame him for not being able to step up yet: it's a question of economics.
