The **** he gets on here is pretty bad. He's actually a cool guy, I don't think Ive heard him say he'll beat the Klitschko's etc.

The **** he gets seems to because of his fans on here who probably get a little over excited.

It was actually a Majority Decision and a very close on at that, for the record.

Mitchell flat out sucks. Both Chauncy and Tank would beat the living hell out of him. He is the pretender. And he is the one with a disgusting team of ******s popping off about him being a future champ. Namely the HBO F up squad.

 

It must have been his fans. Welliver himself comes across as a modest and likeable guy. He's not a **** talker.

Okay, I hear what you are saying. Yes, Mitchell's people must have been thinking about Welliver's belts and high rating when they considered the fight.

 

Good for Williams guys been fighting a long time and is starting to come in his own

i know Evander was old but i never thought Williams had a chance, he deserved that win that night

this one may help him get a good fight or pay day i guess

 

the more i watch his Witherspoon fight the more impressed i get

he got caught survived didnt go down and by the end of the round was the one landing the big shots

he stayed composed and has a real good body attack, he had Witherspoon tiring and hurt to the body in just 2 full rounds of body punching

he has a very good jab considering his background and shocking enough a left hook a tough punch in my opinion for most fighters to do well

the guy has a lot going for him but i just dont have much faith in him at the top level

 

Two points.

1. Mitchell was definitely not "the one landing the big shots" at the end of the first round. That's the round Mitchell was hurt. He was soaking up punishment and saved by the bell.

2. Mitchell did indeed come back in round two by unleashing a heavy body attack. But it must be asked, how much did Witherspoon's tactical mistakes play into Mitchell's hands?

Think about it: Spoon took the first (big) by staying on his feet, moving laterally, pumping the jab, and firing big rights from the distance. At the beginning of round two, Spoon abandoned these tactics, and stood toe to toe with Mitchell. No more movement from Mitchell. Why? I don't understand it.

I do agree though that Mitchell is unusually strong and he has a great body attack. But I wonder how Mitchell would fare against a good heavyweight who keeps his distance -- and deflects those body shots -- for four or five rounds.

 

Not what I expected one bit. :-(
