I had Thurman/Chaves as a draw going into the 9th round, then he got sat down with a body shot... then Chaves basically quit in the 10th.

Against Rios I had it about the same. Unlike most people, I agreed with the dq. Rios did fight dirty but it was almost purely retalitory. Chaves was clearly bothered by Brandons tenacity and body work and I think Chaves was wilting anyway. The holding was ridiculous.

Now he fights Timmy... an incredibly determined fighter who is light years faster and better than Rios. I see a one sided win for Tim here ... I don't see it doing anything for his stock. Would you consider it a tune up for Timmy or does Chaves have a legit shot to win?

chaves did not quit.they both fought dirty the main difference is that rios was never going to get disqualified.chaves was beating rios on the scorecards with only two rounds to go he was not going to wilt.the ref robbed chaves of a win.I think chaves vs rios is a good fight.bradley is coming off a loss and chaves is no slouch.

It's supposed to be, but Chaves is definitely a quality opponent for a tune-up and come-back fight. I don't see why anyone normal would complain. Bradley has only been fighting top fighters since 2008.

pretty much a tune up fight he would need to be beating chavez, he isnt an easy guy to beat though, rios got the dq because he was crying hard

I think it's ridiculous to call a guy as proven as Chaves a tune up. This is a solid fight for Tim. He's just obviously trying to stay busy for bigger, better fights but not a tune up.
