Talent? No. He has a name, and a good chin.

If he actually gave a **** (as you say, he doesn't - in fact long before he got famous outside Mexico, long before hooking up with Roach, back when he only ever appeared on those cheap-ass Latin Fury Pay Per Views, he once tried quitting the sport in frustration because he knew he wasn't much good at it and didn't want to work at it...) he could apply himself and supplement his lack of talent with a bit of skill to augment the few things other than a marketable name he did innately have - brawn and chin basically. As it is, he has to get by on just those things because very little boxing knowledge - even after his time with Roach - has seeped into his pot-addled brain.

Even if it leads to a Chavez-Golovkin ppv in July?

That would be ****ing terrible. Especially for Golovkin (his respectability anyway, if not his wallet...)

Who cares? Chavez has already been exposed as a coddled limited fighter. Vera is awful.

Ward wants a Chavez payday really bad. Do you see Ward-Chavez as an even more shitty fight than Golovkin-Chavez? :think

I agree. Chavez knows he has a lot at stake in future big money fights. So he will look good and give Vera a beating.

Yeah, it's always "this time" or "next time" with Chavez. He lost to Vera last time and even if he wins this time, judging on his past, it'll be another 2 years before he gets in shape again.

He gets pummelled by any top guy from 168-175.

Chavez Jr. is a Bum....he is a gatekeeper at best and to say he will be ready for Ward in a few fights is utterly ridiculous!!!!

I will be laughing my ass off if Vera pulls this one off!!!

yes vera deserves the rematch from being robbed, could had gotten the draw but nope. he will get beatin badly this fight. money talks so taking a beating for a good payday is fine for vera level fighter. good for him but he getting KTFO..

true but the gift was because of his name and he did the only real damage in the 1st fight.
yes he was a complete bum last fight; jr was coming off a year + out of the ring and realized
less than a month out no WAY was he ever going to come close to making weight. good thing
he manned up and had his promoters buy his way around having to lose more weight which
would have put even more a handicap on him and he most likely would have been too
exxhausted to finish on his feet.

the dude made the change, that baby he had is what changed everything. now he truly has something
to go out there and go through hell in training camp to be in great shape for the baby. changed man,
FINALLY and he is in very very good shape for chavez jr and it will show greatly in this fight as he whoops the
hell outta vera. i feel bad for vera, thats the kind of beating and ko he has coming. good for vera these 2 fights
made his career ($$$ wise) and he can retire happy after waking up tonight.

i strongly advise Chavez jr to go after ward instead of GGG. ward is a much safer match and one he has some
very very slight chance to shock the world. no such chance vs GGG. GGG chin is too iron for his punchers chance
like he has against ward. or he should wait out and take a big win (big on paper that is) by taking out the froch
groves 11 winner. those 2 are fighters that could not ever beat an in shape Jr. if the jr from vera 1 shows then of course
but that Jr is gone for good. froch and groved would probably be somehow favored and i would LOVE that.

i would lay down some serious coin for the Jr KO and would win for sure. no doubt in my mind. and thats a good win on
paper then he can be decisioned by ward or go for the bigger $$$ (but a real beating) vs GGG. Ward safer and he could
shock most people and winning would set him up for something crazy following up.
