Chavez Jr could be a great fighter if he just grew up and got serious. The way he treated Roach and prepared for the Martinez fight was nothing short pathetic.

Beristain is an awesome trainer and hopefully he can impose some much needed discipline on Julio and whip him into shape. If so then I seriously believe he could knock out Martinez in the rematch.

The only thing Chavez Jr is great at is getting away with cheating. His noteworthy accomplishments have been solely due to the fact he was way bigger than his opponents. If he was fighting guys his own size he'd be barely a gatekeeper level fighter.

i think if he got serious and moved up to 168 he'd be may beat lucian bute and pavlik but , he wont be able to bully any other fighter like he does at 160 when he balloon up at fight night.

I've just seen a couple of pictures (which I believe are new) of him training in the wildcard :huh

  13. He should have gone with Robert Garcia, perfect fit. Robert has expressed a lot of interest in Chavez and I think it would work out great. Garcia mentioned that he wouldn't get paid his part if Chavez didnt win the rematch against Martinez.

That looks more like Sugar Nicky V took a timemachine back to an 80's disco.
