Of course you would, no modern day fighter could ever have a legit shot at beating ANY fighter from any previous era.

Nah...I just think Oscar was better in his peak at 154. Could be wrong and we'll never truly know :)

    Ugh this thread.

Basically Chavez has maybe a 15% chance in this fight but I'm pulling for the upset.

Oscar knows that this fight will have action (forget the competitiveness) so they'll be able to get a rematch in place. After that they'll drop to 160 and fight Cotto (who'll likely be coming off a marquez win), and then they'll target Lemieux or Eubank or maybe Andrade/Charlo. They are never fighting GGG.

If Chavez somehow pulls off the win he'll take on GGG in a barbaric showdown (Canelo will not be enforcing a rematch clause if he is brutally worn down and stopped).

Chavez (coming off the upset win) is just a lucrative for GGG as Canelo would be. It would sell out cowboy stadium.

hey man put the future matchups together however you like, but don't tell me that Canelo is going anywhere near GGG.

I was down with the whole "155lb" thing. I was down with him choosing to fight Cotto in a much more lucrative fight and becoming lineal MW champ. Hell, i even was down with him dropping the belt like a biitch because at least he moved down to 154lbs and won a title there (as his whole excuse was "I'm too small")

but now that he's jumping up to 164lbs to fight a schmuck is clear as day that he won't ever fight GGG. Oscar is waiting for GGG to unify the division and then start letting go some of those belts (can't fight every mandatory) and then they'll pick one off.

If supporting Gennady Golovkin means I'm one of the "Goon Patrol" then so be it
Beats supporting a cross dresser & his little red headed chubby cupid like cherub any day
