JCC Jr is a name...not HIS mind you but he's got one. As long as he has a name and has exciting fights, Arum will continue to make dollars off the guy. There's a reason he hasn't faced anything but cans so far. They know he's a project (and a limited one at that) and are just biding their time. It'll be this way for a while.
problem is, he has no amateur background and that was his 36th professional fight, he appears to have regressed in his last two fights, and worse, came into the fight woefully out of shape. doesnt bode well for Jr.
You can say he regressed.....another way to look at it is that he stepped up in caliber of opposition and it showed. .....but you may be correct on how good a shape Chavez was in. Reports are that Chavez looked terribly drained when he weighed-in, the Celaya camp even going as far as saying that he cheated the scales in a quick weighin that they over the rapidness of the weighin, did not get a chance to verify that he was indeed on weight. That will also be a lesson to Jr. These are all learning experiences that Chavez if he is serious about his work ethic, he will benefit from in the future! It did'nt cost him against Celaya, but he should know damn well that it may cost him down the road if he's not in great shape every time.
