No one in the top 10 would have a problem with him. Ward--loses worse than Dawson Froch--loses worse than Abraham Pavlik--KOed like Zertuche Abraham--competitive decision loss Groves--KOs him like Serra Rodriguez--easy decision The toughest guy I can buy him beating is Don George.
Junior/Pavlik would be fun and a pick'em. He would schooled by Ward and Froch would do him too. Maybe a Bute fight could push the winner to another big fight, but I doubt Lucian wants to miss his Montreal date with Froch.
what makes him successful at MW is that he is so big and physically strong. when he steps up he wont have that advantage. a bit like Hatton found at WW along with other fighters (probs better examples)......Pavlik. i think the same thing would happen to Bellew at CW btw.
no I just don't think he will make a better cruiserweight than light heavy because his style is so based on being the bigger man. I think he could win a world title at Light Heavyweight.
I think Chavez would fancy his chances against Froch. Can't see him winning, but Froch wouldn't waste him like many seem to think.
Froch vs Chavez Jr would be fun. Neither are great defensively but the thing with Carl is that his awkward stance can see him partially block punches with his shoulder etc. He doesn't get hit as cleanly as JCC and I think in a fight between the two at 168, that could make a difference.
Agree'd Apart from the Bellew bit, absolutely agree infact, Chavez cannot bully the monsters up at 168 with his limited skill set But .............. how much was he hindered physically by making 160 ?, the guy looked dead at the weigh in, and i mean that literally, if he closed his eyes he would of looked like a corpse
Would like to see Chavez vs Abraham or Pavlik to see how he does at the weight Wonder how Chavez would do against Degale he might walk right through him
