Like I said in my OP......I know who the opponent was......but Bika couldnt handle Bute on the inside....what would he do vs Chavez Jr????:huh Froch is fading, and JR is finally mixing up his punches. This would be a closish fight, but I don't see Froch being able to sustain the punches that JR would be putting on his early and often. IMO.....JR<Froch ie punch resistance. And yeah.....Abe's got nothing for JR.
Jr couldn't stop Vera, who had no pop whatsoever to hurt him with and with a huge gap in skills, size, and just general physical strength. Bika is crudish, but is very strong and very tough. Bute was able to handle him because Bute has explosive pop, a southpaw, and is fast. Chavez Jr has none of those qualities. And Froch has his flaws, but it's a lot of the same principal of Bika, except Froch is a better boxer and has more power. He has a good jab that's tough for a non-boxer(Jr), to get past. Lastly, I think Jr would beat AA. That said, if he doesn't fight a disciplined fight, he could easily lose. As good as Chavez Jr is at eating punches from lesser punchers, he really hasn't tasted anything like what even AA brings to the table. Ultimately Jr is what I would consider a fringe world class guy. Limited from a skills perspective but with the right matchups(which his promotional backing generally gets him) he can make noise until he meets a real world class opponent. Without the right matchmaking he can just as easily lose to a fellow fringe level guy however.
