Chavez Jr at 172, better than expected

For Chavez to win, he's gotta knock Canelo out cuz we all know the judges will be in Golden Boy's pocket. Going to the cards will only mean robbery even if Chavez fights well enough to win.

 

Yeah i forgot about the catchweight. Still, as long as he is within, say, 10llbs now (and he is) then all good. I think we are all 60-70% water so dropping from 172 now to 164.5 at weight-in won't provide him with any issues....

 

Do not put words in my mouth in order to make a point. I never said any of Canelo's close wins were robberies, just that he will have the judges backing for the chavez fight. GBP have a powerful influence within boxing, you'd be naive to believe otherwise.

 

If Chavez couldn't separate himself in quality from Brian Vera over the course of 22 rounds back in 2013 and 2014, why would he be favored here?

 

De la Hoya dropped most of the weight and looked great before the pac fight and we all know how that ended

I hope Chavez comes into the fight healthy and delivers a beating to canelo but I jus can't see it

Oscar has said openly he drained himself, Roach claimed IV marks and oscar said he was drinking wine in camp...(he didn't mention blow but...?)

Even if Oscar looked great he was done. Chavez may not be done yet. I would love a Chavez win, but you're probably right - Canelo wins

 

I've never liked Chavez Jr. because he didn't train seriously for many fights, this is well documented. The first Vera fight was highway robbery and you could tell he didn't give a sh!t about the fight. Which is why he dominated the second fight.

He has also looked better at a lower weight than a higher one. Canelo has never fought someone above 155 so this will also be a test for him. Chavez appears focused and I think he is more than capable of pulling the upset.

 

Canelo is in beast mode as well!

These "surprise news" are just plain promoting and trolling. Chavez jr will be weak as he.. at fight night. Cutting weight that much is dangerous and impossible at the top level of the sports where u have weight classes. If this fight is competitive its because Canelo isn't top athlete. Nothing more.

 

With Nacho Beristain, Chavez might be at his best................don't know, but....................

Fonfara had that joker sleep walking and Jr always has issues with cutting weight and has NEVER weighted in at the limit of this fight. Plus what does this fight have to do with GGG?
