As the title states, can he ever make it to be a World Champion? Does anyone have faith in this kid? To be honest I am a JCC Sr. fan but his son won't never be like Chavez. Too many damn good competition at 154lbs. to ever be champion. I think they would rack up his win victories by fighting nobodies and start making more money. He has fought nobody and is already in PPV fights! Good luck if he ever fights PW or Kirkland.

First of all Forget about JC Chavez Sr., besides bustin' jr. out the tip, that's it.
    Different dude.

Can he be a world champion, why not? I have defo seen worse & even fighter's promoted & pushed by HBO ect.

Peep's just expect "WAY" too much from him.
With Arum on his side, He'll get a strap, that's his job.

he is ranked about 25 on the computer on boxing rec

thats about right and about his level

he might beat a few above him , but he would lose to more than he would beat.

if he gets put in with a technical fighter who is world champ he will get outclassed, his best chance is v a limited fighter like a duddy, if a duddy type fighter could beat a world champ.

someone like forrest or dzindurek would find chavez very easy pickings.

no harm in that not everyone is good enough to be a champ, and chavez jnr is competent at his level , just do not expect him to progress much above 20 and win much.

Yea I don't have a wholelot of faith in him. Im sure he can eventually get one of the ABC straps but that's about it.

he can win a title but I dont think hes ever gonna be great. Keep him away from Kirkland then his career will survive.

He's young so he has a chance at a title. I think he'd get whupped by the top 154 pounders today but the way he can grab a strap is by keeping that protected record and never fighting anyone of significant risk which will slowly move him up the rankings which he has to do until the division is weaker and there's some vacant titles on the line(forrest retiring, others moving up) then Arum can work his magic and get him in a fight for a vancant title against a soft touch and voila there's your paper champion. He might follow that up by some weak defenses against unheard of mandatory's until one of them sparks him and so ends another fabrication by the bobfather.

Senor Freddy Wak has a lot of faith in the kid. :D

I dunno, maybe, if a weak champion comes along, cos right now I can't see him beating any of Forrest, Dzinziruk, Santos, or the winner of Spinks-Latimore for the IBF or Kirkland should he win a title.

Fighting out from under his father's shadow is bad enough a job, let alone carving out his own career plan. He'll never be his father, and people need to realize this, but I must say, the kid is fighting tougher men than his father did in his first 60 or so bouts fighting creme puffs and novices. Chavez Jr, if he can keep learning and stay active, may very well win a title in the near future, but its way too early yet to say he will become a big time fighter. IMO, though, he's proven himself better than some second generation fighters I have seen, certainly better than Peter McNeeley, Young Fitzsimmons, Ronald Hearns and Aaron Pryor Jr, so far in his career.

Although I dont like the Chavez's much at all. People need to realize he had no amateur experience and is wanting to go his fathers route.

Chavez Sr didn't fight for a World title till like his 45th fight or something.

I'm a go ahead and admit I BOUGHT that PPV last night..

First, both Montiel and Humberto Soto looked like KILLERS against their respective competition, so that wasn't too bad as they were the main reason I dropped the dough.

    NOW, on to JCC Jr........:verysad

Not only was he fighting a guy that the commentation kept OVER and OVER saying had a very padded record, was WAY shorter than Jr., and didn't seem to have power for ****......I can't say I don't think he (the opponent) won that fight! Only one card had it 96-95 it think, and the other 2 were blow outs for JR. BULL **** I say.

A draw would have been OK, maybe, but it looked like Jr. lost the **** out of that fight to me.:yep

Also, if Jr. was winning the fight 98-92 like a couple of the judges seem to think, why would Sr. be fuming mad at him, screaming at him thru the ropes in the corner, and basically running back and forth ringside......IMO, he knew Jr. was losing...yupz.
