Finally got to watch Chavez-Zbik tonight and was surprisingly impressed with Chavez.

His bodywork is, quite frankly, fantastic. However, his footwork is poor, obviously little head movement, though he did bob and weave at times which impressed me and is a slight improvement.

He does not throw his jab anywhere near enough. There were times when I was almost crying out for him to double it up and really put some snap behind it. If he wants to use his physique to full advantage he has to use his jab.

I think if he works on his jab, straight combos and quicker footwork, he could be a real force in the division, because that bodywork was very good.

I can see where you are coming from with the Margarito comparison though, if he could throw more chopping straight punches and at higher volume, he could be an impressive pressure fighter.

Technically, you're right.... But right now you're WRONG....

fighter that lacks ko power, but has a high output in this instance, sounds MORE like JUAN DIAZ than Floyd Mayweather.... Juan Diaz isn't a big puncher, but he's a guy with a good workrate, and always brings it... And that usually wears down fighters (Julio Diaz, Freitas to name a few)..

The only things JC JR can learn from the hands of plaster are how to illegally pad gloves, lie, cut his hair like a dirtbag, and take dives for Arum.

JC has already surpassed Tijuana Turdnado. The win over ZBIK compares favorably with the Turdnado's best wins.

A well timed one two, jab straight right hand would go well with his hooks and digs to the body.

its a thought - basically saying that Chavez outta try to get into the "Workhorse style".

Specifically, its already in you or its not. The Workhorses are those who already possess a high amount of stamina and the willing mentality to expand a large amount of energy. They know they dont have KO power, but if they can pressure and outwork your opponent, a cumulative KO can come or opponent resigns.

Unfortunately, JCC jr. doesnt naturally have that stamina needed to be considered a workhorse, and he doesnt have that natural mentality. Im not sure anyone has ever flipped their style into this. A person naturally has this or not...
