I'm also of the opinion that Jr. isn't close to as bad as the hate he gets. Noone is claiming he's a P4P guy, even Jr. himself. His being the son of a legend is a gift as well as a curse. That being said, I don't think he's been ducking Martinez either and I believe we will see this fight in 2012, and I actually would pick Jr to win (as a deserved underdog). The size difference is massive, especially now with Sergio admitting he's really a 154 lb fighter... while Chavez is really a cruiserweight.

 

Chavez gets a lot of unwarranted hate. He's really come along.

Roach and Top Rank's cherry picking asses saw what I saw. Sergio was breathing heavily with his mouth open early in that fight. He's draining himself to stay below 160 for the weigh in. He's going to come in at 170 or so for Chavez me thinks.

 

Chavez Jr will crush the puny wannabe 154lber Sergio with his weight cutting cruiserweight powers, just wait.

Just imagine Sergio struggling to make 160 and then facing a 190 lbs Chavez on fight night.

It wont be pretty. It'll be like Margarito-Martinez all over again but worse for the Sexy.

 

Cruiserweight was an exaggeration... but still a significant size difference that would definitely be a factor.

 

Chavez is just talking and he won't walk that walk, not as long as Bob is there and Papi Chavez Sr advices him to play the right toon to make this a good business for the Chavez Jr Camp. Actually there are a lot of guys stepping up and wanting the big risk since Sergio struggled last weekend but it is up to each one to step up and sign... Just talk is for lovers, not for fighters.

 

We will see if he finally grows some balls, he gets defeated by martinez though, for sure.

Bigger dude means bigger target. If the fight is allowed to happen in Texas (which I assume it will be) I can actaully see Jr. making it competitive. But at the end of the day if a big guy like Pavlik couldn't beat sergio then an inferior big guy with the saem style is going to be hard pressed to win this fight.
