I'm a huge fan of Chavez Sr. Chavez Jr is no Sr and, and pretty obviously, never will be. Watching Jr is like watching an old Sr - he's got the same basic style but no snap on his punches, almost no head movement/defense and, as we saw in the Vanda fight, some serious stamina issues. What made Sr so great is that he could maintain his tempo (even up it) as the fight went on. For Jr, as the fight progresses, he loses steam and gets sloppy. The will is there (give him props for that) just not the ability.

Not enough power at his weight class. With his style he needs to hurt his opponent consistently.

I think he's been fighting (well atleast training) longer than 5 years. Wasn't there a video of him fighting Paez Jr. as a little kid?

I think someone in the other post put it best.

That scorecard was filled out before the fight started.

I'm slapping my computer monitor where your username and avatar are for putting Julio Cesar Chavez ****ing Junior in the same breath as MAB, Izzy, Montiel, and Mijares.

I'm slapping it even harder now because I'm frustrated that it isn't your actual face.

Did you really just compare Julio Cesar Chavez ****ing Junior to MAB, Izzy, Montiel, and Mijares?

Now I'm just slapping the air in the hopes that those molecules reach you someday.

Yeah, that was me! Every now and again I come up with a memorable line!

The decision was right; the scorecard was ridiculous.

If tonights fight would of gone 12 rds , JR would of been Ko'd.

Jr. wont be ready for a title shot until atleast 2010 .

It was in comparison to the limited amateur experience they had and the success they've acheived during their career.

Don't think much of him at all, he is very flawed defensively and lacking in killer instinct and mental intangibles

I'll be suprised if hes a world champion, but he's in the right division to get a paper belt.

Good fighters usually get better after winning a title and thats when the fine tuning comes about.
