Good to see him getting another shot after he was robbed against Sturm.

Think Canelo/Gomez might be a bit of a beatdown but it's deffo one of the better PPVs of recent years.

If Chavez goes through with this and the Manfredo fight as well then he'll have 4 fights this year which is great. Last year he only had 1.

Chavez Jr actually makes for TV friendly fights(as Teddy would say). No matter how crap the opponent, they usually land on Chavez Jr without too much trouble.
Can't see many Mexicans watching the Hearns fight over Alvarez and Morales though.

Agreed but in terms of name's and skills it was far far better and shows the distinct difference between them sorta fights and this one.

Bit of a joke really good fight if its a non title bout warm up type thing but for the "prestigous" WBC belt its a joke shame....

If Chávez Jr. didn't have a (very good) professional boxer for a dad, he wouldn't be as badly criticised. Maybe that should be put into the 'controversial' thread.

Perhaps not. But it's not really his fault, is it?

Not bad fight this! I expect Chavez on points or late stoppage victory! If only hearns had his pops power or even a 5th of it he'd be dangerous!

I guess he'll have to take the rough with the smooth. He gets to stick because of his Dad but he's also got a world title, been a numorous PPVs and (I'd guess!) earned very well largely because of the connection.

Not THAT bad a trade on balance....

He's not that bad either, he isn't very refined but has a pretty stout chin.

So fair play to the kid. He's only being built up for an eventual sacrifice/cash-in where he'll get savaged, so good luck to him.
