this guy will literally take about 20 punches to the dome just to get on the inside. he doesnt set up a thing. he looks like a confused little boy when on the outside. i dont think i seen him throw one jab to set up his power shots and get on the inside. but to his credit he is a straight animal when actually gets on the inside.

but... that aint happenin with someone like Martinez. he's way too elusive, in shape, and confident. Jr is going to be a very easy target. Sergio is going to CLOWN this guy as long as his age doesnt finally catch up. you're going to see the huge difference in class of fighters. this is going to be embarassing Jr. kind of a mismatch .

I think Julio Jr will punish Sexy Sergio some, but Serg ultimately stops him

yeah, he'll get a couple of licks in every now and then. Serge will smile it off then continue boxing his ears off each round. and yes, he may indeed get that late stoppage.

this is going to be a mismatch. im calling it. :yep

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, I think JR has consistantly improved and gotten stronger over his last 2-3 fights, while Martinez has gotten a little worse each time out. I think Chavez is a brutal body puncher, he's got legit power, and his subtle movements make him a bit tougher to hit than what some may believe. I think Sergio will look great for the first 3 rounds, but around the 4th round Junior is going to start getting to him and will eventually wear him down. I have nothing but respect for Sergio, but this is a different kind of fighter than he's faced before and I just think Junior is going to impose his will on Martinez.

theres absolutely nothing Jr. can do with Sergio on the outside. Sergio's not dumb enough to stay against the ropes. hes gonna stick and move all night long.

idk, Sergio seems to get better as the fight wears on and gets into his rythm. imo Chavez is going to be a very easy target. Sergio has KO'd some solid MW's late. the power and conditioning is there.

but then again, dude is almost 38. age can catch up to him anytime.

What I'm saying is that Chavez is too dumb to know he's not "skilled enough" or maybe it's he's too arrogant, either way all that **** sounds good on paper and in normal circumstances I would agree with you, but Junior has transformed himself into Margarito 2.0. The difference is he's faster than Margarito, he's got heavier hands (insert brick joke here), and he's fresher. I just think his youth, sheer physicality, and overall determination will eventually win this fight for him. I see no way that Sergio can stay moving all night, I'll just have to see it to believe it.

Sergio will surprise a lot of his diehard fans by showing a very low threshold for punishment. He ain't built for a fight like the 15th.

idk, u might be right. Youth and determination can get you through alot, especially dealing with a fighter that is declining. but im not so sure Sergio will fade. hes a great overall athlete, but if he does, he's in trouble and just might get wrecked down the steatch.

but all i can invision is a Martinez-Pavlik style beating. probably worse due to Chavez lack of experience @ a world level. this fight will be interesting for sure. i cant wait to see what happens.
