"Canelo is a good fighter, but these days he is extremely overrated. For me and for many, in his last 10 fights, he has had an advantage with weight. In the two fights with Golovkin he went to a draw and lost [he beat Golovkin by majority decision]. The fight [he had with] Cotto could have been a draw and they cheated me with the weight.... by weighing me at nine o'clock and then not being able to eat until one in the afternoon, something that has never been seen in history."

"I would like a rematch at the [appropriate] weight. Yes, it was difficult to lose, especially when seeing everything that happened, I am completely sure that if I'm at 100 percent and better prepared, I could give a better fight. The first one was very boring and what I'm saying was noticed [by those watching]. My focus at that time was not on boxing. I prepared myself, but not with the conviction of wanting to be the best in the world.

"Today, the best boxers in the world are: Vasyl Lomachenko, Terence Crawford and Errol Spence. All of them are easily above Canelo."

Damn, Clenelo's a real POS. The man knows no bounds. The weight shenanigans are unreal.

I wouldn't disagree that Lomachenko and Crawford are superior p4p fighters to Canelo, but Chavez Jr. is the last person to criticize anyone for shenanigans.

I mean, the guy is a fatty and has used PEDs and smokes weed... But Clenelo has a proven history of cheating, stacking the deck, and making sure his opponents are at the most disadvantaged coming into a fight w/ him.

What do you call Chavez Jr draining down to MW, getting gift decisions and undeserved opportunity after opportunity? There was a time before Clenelo where he was going to be made into the next big Mexican cashcow.

Draining down to some weight isn't cheating. This narrative has to stop. We pick and choose when draining is detrimental or beneficial.

NO ONE forced him to sign the contract and play by Canelo's rules. He needed the money. End of story.

It might not ALWAYS be outright cheating, but it can and often times mean that a fighter is a fraud who if fighting at their natural weight class would fall very short from accomplishing anything of substance. Also. I strongly believe Chavez Jr. took banned substances in aiding his cut to 159, I mean I can't prove it but it's a very educated hunch. There's always going to be a disdain for weight bullies in boxing dude, whether it's outright cheaing or not.

Whoever thinks Alvarez needs any advantage to beat Jr. is beyond deluded.

He signed off on the stipulations he's complaining about. Jr. Is one of the most entitled atheletes I've ever seen he had no business being in the ring with canelo in the first place and hes now crying cheating for clauses he was aware of and signed off on to get his cash out fight

This is the same jcc Jr who disgracefully quit against Jacobs. Jcc Jr is an embarrassment.

I don't think anybody thinks that. That said, it is known that Canelo will insist on these advantages no matter who the opponent is. For example, Rocky Fielding.

Chavez Jr talking about cheating? Isn't this the same Chavez Jr. who has cheated multiple times, even had his trainer go inside the bathroom with him when he had to do a urine test after the Martinez fight? The man was unfairly given the WBC belt when it was stripped away by Martinez, used diuretics for the majority of his MW career, disgraced himself and his fathers name multiple times and put the final nail in the coffin and quit in his last fight against Jacobs.

There was a time when both Chavez Jr and Canelo were the two up and coming superstars of Mexico. Chavez reached a greater height than Canelo at 1 point when Chavez defeated Lee and his build up with Martinez. If Chavez would of won that fight and maintained his momentum, he would of been more popular than Canelo ever was. The man can't complain about stipulations in which he agreed to though.

Canelo has pulled shady shenanigans and that is indisputable by all but the most cringe-worthy of die-hard Canelo fans.

That said, when it comes to this topic Chavez, Jr. can go kick rocks.
