Chavez weighed in at 156, after presumably some incredibly hard training. He looks lean and mean at 156. But 154 is a thing of the past, he is nearly 6'1. He is a middleweight. I'd like to see "Chavez-Sturm, late next year. Who cares if he loses at this point? It's time to step it up, win lose or draw.

At 160 he is gonna get crushed. Maybe he should fight Abraham or Miranda?

His best beat would be to take a good 154 pounder and contract the fight at a higher weight before taking on a full fledge middle.

he will have trouble at MW if he has to go there he is in trouble

  6. Chavez Jr. can basically do whatever he wants to. I can't wait until he fights an actual top ten 10 fighter. He will be beaten quite easily

Maybe now Chavez Sr. can call out Trinidad with the same enthusiasm with which he called out Hoya.

Who cares if he loses?, his father sure as hell does and it looks as though they want him to fight over 90 cabdrivers like his father did before finally stepping up. The guy is struggling against opponents he's supposed to beat, a step up would be a nail in the coffin.

The only reason they called out DLH is because they KNOW DLH won't take the fight simply because Chavez Jr. is still new and is struggling against guys he's "supposed" to easily beat. If DLH took the fight then people would bash on him for fighting this easy new guy and if he didn't take it then he's "ducking" him. They're just using this "We called out DLH" bull**** to promote him some more.

DLH would knock his head off if he took the fight.

i dont know the reason capetillo has been succesfull its because of arce and margarito granite chins, any other fighter would been koed
he needs rudy perez, but i agree capetillo would discipline his lazy ass
chavez jr should be fighting at 154 the reason he is at 156 its because hes not putting that much effort

People forget that about Chavez Sr. He fought 70+ bums before he ever stepped up in comp. In light of that, Jr can get to 50 fights before he ever fights a real opponent. The kid is only 22, he has plenty of time. I am glad actually that they are bringing him along like this.

Wasn't he supposed to retire? That's the only and last JCC Jr. news I want to hear.

He would get systematically taken apart by a technical fighter like Felix Sturm.

It would be nice to see him try though. I think its sink or swim time. He's way too complacent fighting all these C levels.
