Chavez Jr is slightly better than Macklin and Barker

If Macklin and Barker can have success against Martinez, i don't see why a younger, heavier, stronger man can not.

A younger, heavier, stronger, slower, and more one-dimensional man.

But he has a chance, no doubt.

macklin is highly skilled, Chavez only has size over him. barker is a defensive boxer. Martinez wasn't as motivated in those fights

He's not a better talent than either, actually. He might be a slightly better total package, due to his strength and durability. And it might even be enough to win. But, he's not a better or more versatile boxer than either, that I can see.

I think the styles are very different but then again I'll agree that Chavez is just on another level then the other 2 guys who already gave Martinez hell

My opinion is that Martinez has a difficult time fighting all 12 rounds and at times will coast or be frustrated and not do much

however Martinez has had this crazy ability to reach this extra gear late in fights when he needed it

Pavlik dropped him and was coming on, Martinez opened it up cut him and took command

Barker was giving him fits, not sure who was ahead, but Martinez turns it up and gets a late KO

Macklin got a knockdown was possibly ahead or at least in the fight and Martinez put on a public execution

the only fight he didnt come on late was vs Paul Williams in fight 1

II know it was controversial but i think Martinez got tired after the 5th or 6th, Williams forced him into a pace he was uncomfortable with and he could not make a late round surge

I think this is a great match up, Martinez will try to turn it up late in the bout and Chavez will attempt to prevent that from happening by way of constant pressure

to be honest i dont really know who i think is going to win so many little variables

if i had to pick id favor Martinez but not comfortably

Macklin doesn't have great boxing skills and is a fairly predictable boxer. He is effective at what he does, though. He can swarm an opponent with very basic punches. He is just easy to time and very ordinary. It doesn't take long until he's tired and you have figured him out.

Macklin has a worse chin than Chavez Jr and can be hurt.

Barker has a worse chin and can be hurt. Not just by Martinez. Barker doesn't throw enough punches.

Chavez is slightly better than both. He has much better body work than Mackin. Who has limted power at best.

I guess one thing Barker has over Chavez is defense, but his offence is poor, and has less big fight experience than Chavez.

Martinez is going to look tired and he will be gasping for air. Chavez jr is not in fear of him. We're gonna see an aggressive Chavez jr.

Barker is more skilled than Chavez Jr. Junior, however, will have a pronounced size advantage over Sergio, something Barker did not, and he carries heavier hands.

Nevertheless a motivated Martinez should dominate Chavez Jr. to an easy UD.

When the strongest point of a boxer is his chin...

Too many words about this fight. If Martinez power is enough to keep Fatboy far from him, Sergio wins.

If not, Fatboy will pass over him like a bulldozer (like Lee's fight).

If Barker and Macklin would be americans , probably their skills would be highly recognized :yep but they are just some "euro-booms" ,right :-:)patsch
