I think that JR right now is the most protected fighter in all of boxing. First he fights matt vanda who fights at 154lb at middleweight . Second he fight John Duddy who is a British level fighter, next zbik who also was beating him before the Judges stole the fight to . Then a shot Manfredo lol. Finally a shot Rubio.:rofl WBC said that Martinez will be the mandatory, the WBC will probably have martinez face pirog, sturm, froch and ward to get a shot at Jr.:rofl

Manfredo was past it, but Zbik was a good fight. Same thing with Rubio, I'm not sure how you classify 'shot' but Rubio was on a pretty good streak (and had that upset against Lemieux).

don't worry homie....when he gets in there with someone worthy and loses....you'll be happy.

it's the same story and it happens all the time in boxing......so many fighters get protected. it's a business as much as it is a sport.

I'd have to agree I think Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is one of the most protected Boxers in the sport because Top Rank understands the earning potential he possess.

Chavez Jr, behind Mayweather and Pacqauio might be one of the most important commodities in boxing because people pay to see him fight. Sergio Marintez is a better fighter, but nobodies watching him fight.

In all fairness to Chavez Jr. I have to give him credit for the guys he has stepped up and faced like Sebastian Zebik, Marco Antonio Rubio, and now Andy Lee. Over the last few years he's stepped up his competition level a tad bit.

One thing Top Rank has done a masterful job at over the last few years is matching there up and comers with "name fighters' who aren't exactly washed up, but slowly showing signs of erosion, Oscar Dela Hoya made a career of it.

Sergio Martinez isn't exactly a spring chicken and in his last few fights he's showed some signs of slowing down. Personally, I think Martinez has about two or three more good fights left in him before his time is up....It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Chavez Jr. take him out when he's no longer a serious threat.

    Op is a tool.

Compare Chavez' resume to all of the other middleweights then stfu. Oh, and I saw the Zbik fight, a close fight doesn't equal a robbery dousche.

P.s. Rubio wasn't shot, Jesus these pathetic board members sometimes.

Dont mind Chavez Jr but both Sturm and Martinez will cruise through him. So would Pirog and GGG. :deal

I think the British trio would give him hell too.

I say Jr. should fight one of the "bums" Martinez has been facing to test his mettle. Matthew Macklin (Sturm fight) UDs Chavez Jr. IMO

I think Mayweather is the most protected fighter, then Chavez.
