I dislike how Chavez gets a lot of critisism , it is extremely hard to do what he does because of what his father did. He may never be as succesfull but no doubt he can become a great fighter. I think people like him and especially khan can learn a lot from pacquiao.

i agree, he may never be as great as his father but he can make a good run on his own without the pressure of his father's name.

Yea I have a buddy of mine that trains at the gym and pretty much Roach doesn't want Jr or any of his fighters fighting with the no defense "Mexican" style. I don't think he's being racist or anything like that, just wants Jr to focus more on his technique and defense instead of having to go toe to toe like he used to all the time and the toe to toe style which is favored and praised in Mexico. His performance vs. Duddy was the best Chavez Jr I had seen. If he's improved more since then and can do more of that there is hope for him. Good to hear he's throwing arrogance out the window and getting to business. He needs to let his fists do the talking. Would like to see some more speed on Jr. Some sparring with Vanes would be interesting.

yeah he's learning how to not get caught using banded substance.

It was a diuretic - not a performance enhancing substance.

I don't like the guy (can you say "Crushing cans for padding"?) but at least be completely honest.

If he keeps it up he will be a force to be rekoned with. He is still young and hopefully under Roach get some better competition under his belt. He should beat Gomez easily, he has a tremendous reach advantage over him.
