as far as talent goes, all the critics should be silenced....we have now witnessed jr ko guys cold, and box his way to victories....the only thing left is a step up in competition and we will see what the son of the lion is really made of....

i loved the rope thing he was doing, reminds me of jc superstar when he would stand in the pocket against the ropes, make fools miss, and counter with some heavy ****en shots :bbb :bbb :bbb

i think the kid is getting a bit tired with the same old routine of beating up guys he is supposed to, so i'm hoping that by the end of the year he fights some guys that will really test him.....

    feliciano
    david estrada
    alfonso gomez

those type of fighters that would really make him dig deep and earn a victory....not saying he hasn't done that, but atleast these 3 guys bring things that'll give him respect....

    pressure
    hard chins
    popularity
a work rate that would take chavez to deep waters
    etc
    etc

    :happy :happy :happy :happy

I like the kid, but the critics won't be silenced until he fights someone the fans can recognize. The three fighters you named would be good. Too bad he called out Camacho after the fight. These independent PPV's are not going to cut it for too long.

Hey just curious, How much of an amateur background does Chavez jr have? I thought I heard he doesn't have much amateur experience? Either way I like him, But I just really want him to increase the level of competition because there is no point in dragging this "building up" process any longer, a boxers prime = early 20s and well if they drag this learning curve much longer he is going to be past prime before he gets into a serious fight!

Thats crazy, why wouldn't they want to build him from young with an amateur career if he started boxing in the gym at such a young age? I don't get it :huh

you'd be surprised how the boxing scene is in mexico....once your 15 or 16 your pretty much considered an adult over there, so it's alot different then right here....why do you think threre really isnt that many olympians from mexico that make a big name for themselves....:good

I don't think his Dad wanted him to be a fighter at first or somehting. Or at least I remember hearing something like that.

I agree with the title of the thread. I was impressed with the kids skills last night. I would have liked to have seen him finish the job in the later rounds though. I didn't mind him being patient in the first rounds just to work on his boxing but after a while he should have got the italian out of there. Still bigger things to come from this one I'm sure.

Yea I do realize that they pretty much turn pro at such a ridiculous age out there. And now to think about that...you're right there aren't that many Olympians outta mexico...Thats odd lol they just get thrown right into the fire. But Amateur boxing is good for everyone I wish they would do Amateur boxing.

REAlly, thats pretty interesting. I never knew that. Yeah then that would ceratianly explain why he never had an amateur career.

Well all I can say is that its a good thing he's on board know. Cause Omar really needed his dad's pep-talk in between the last two round of his fight last night.

You were probably the only one who ordered it. But I wish Jr well at JMW and wish he would had fought Oscar instead of Forbes
