Let me clarify something here. Chavez senior is not only a ATG but a freaking genious. He is doing a great thing with his son. If you see Chavez senior record you will see he fought many nobodys. I am not taking anything away from him. That is a good thing if you know how to do it.
We don't know if Chavez jr has what it takes to be considered a star. But thanks to his record and fame he will get great money whenever the real test comes up. And you have to remember something, The kid is only 22y/o. don't be confused by his long record.
By the way, he gets pretty decent money in Mexico with that PPV. Mexico is a big country with a lot of people. Puerto Rican boxers can't do that in the island because the population is a lot smaller.
I think Chavez jr. will KO Camacho Jr in 5 rounds.

I thought he looked average against a very mediocre opponent.
He let a lumbering fighter with no power or jab get inside on him repeatedly.
If he ever decides to turn pro and face real competition he gonna have a tough go of it.
Though he looks built more for MW or SMW, I'm sure he will remain at 154 because of the lack of depth, or anything for that matter, in that particular class.
He moves up, he gets KO'd.
He stays where he is, he can keep selling PPV's against no-hopers.

I've been impressed with Chavez Jr. for a while now. He has a tough name to live up to and the criticism of him has been ridiculously harsh. If he wasn't the son of one the all time greats I don't think he'd be scrutinized as much.

He has demonstrated a good chin, excellent power and decent fundamentals. He is progressing nicely and looks like he could develop into a really good fighter if he keeps his head together.

people really forget that the kid is 22 years of age....
i think the majority of people turn away from him and hate on him a bit cause of all the ppv's, but that aint his fault....he's being guided by the man that has created some of the best ever, so i dont see why people should complain....
all you can do is youtube him up and watch the fights later...

i just love how our family comes together like the good'ol days when his dad would fight....so 35 bucks really aint **** cause we sure as hell make it worth it......

and boom boom, i know he aint his dad, but i've seen all of chavez's fights from way before, WHEN HE WAS "MEESTER KNOKE'OUT" (SPANISH SPEAKING FOLKS KNOW WHY I SPELLED IT THAT WAY) and many people doubted him too....so we'll just have to wait and see

I'm pretty sure the guy got a late start to boxing, so to a degree, I understand why they are moving him very slowly. Yes the guy was more or less made to order, but he did some very nice, fundamentally sound things in the ring this weekend in spots. Of course he needs to learn to do those things on a more consistent basis.

Estrada would still be way too much for him, and maybe even Gomez, assuming Miguel didn't permanently alter him. I really think a fight with Feliciano late this fall would be a solid and winnable test for him. And hey, he's not that old at 23.

I thought he was **** poor to be honest, same old story

Lazy jab, loses concentration, gets backed up and hustled by D level non-pressure fighters

On the plus side when he actually decided to bother fighting he looked classy at times

Overall, he needs to step it up. There are two ways to tell if a step up is required, either you obliterate guys in 2 rounds, or you start to stagnate and get sloppy as you don't feel under threat. For JCC Jr, it's the latter
