what about Barrera vs this guy from Brazil? Should this be easy work for Barrera?

I can't tell who was better at blocking punches with their face... Gatti, Baldomir, or Duddy.

Ive always liked Chavez but it's hard to gauge his performance against a standing punching bag. He doesn't have the pop in his punches to compete with the best. He needs to fight Foreman or sum other feather fisted guys like Mora.

    It was. :good

As to the thread title - Chavez being in his best shape yet probably had a lot to do with why he was able to keep those power punches flowing until the very end.

Chavez was impressive in rocking Duddy as bad and as many times as he did, but he didn't exactly go for the finish like a calculating and bloodthirsty monster. He did try to finish Duddy a couple of times but it was tentative, short-lived, and wild.

Still, props to the overall performance.

Duddy's legs were gone for the last 4 rounds...Chavez was very, very close to getting that stoppage. You know when a fighter is hit so hard, so flush, and so often that their body starts to let them down...that's what was happening to Duddy. No one single punch had him like that, it was the same thing with Margarito/Mosley. Duddy is just one tough mother****er but he was beaten badly...I have no idea what the commentators were watching through six rounds.
