Just watched the fight, the stoppage was legit. The people that dont think it was legit are largely saying so because a lot of Chavez's follow up punches missed, that doesnt not matter, what matters is if Manfredo was safe to continue. The initial right hand hurt him, chavez initial follow up combo landed clean, a lot of misses when theyre first on the ropes and as manfredo down on the ropes chavez gets a few more in clean. The ref actually gave him ample time to return punching but he wasnt fighting back. The biggest proof was that manfredo did not contest the stoppage at all, not because he didnt have heart but because he was too hurt and dazed to argue with the ref and he was still dazed and hurt sitting on the stool for a while. How can you be ok to fight for the last minute of the round when you are unable or unaware to protest the stoppage of the fight?
