In a well attended press conference today in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico, it was officially announced that undefeated world ranked contender Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will return to the ring on Saturday, July 25 in “Latin Fury X”, a world championship card presented by Top Rank and Promociones Zanfer and to be televised to the United States live on Pay-per-view from this beautiful resort town know as the “Riviera Nayarit”. Guillermo Brito of Promociones Zanfer made the announcement a long side Chavez Jr., and the state’s Tourism secretary Mario Basulto, the state’s sports director Sara Bertha Valdez, Hotel Grand Maya General Manager, Alejandro Ruiz and local promoter Adan Casas.
“I know that everyone in Mexico has always supported me and it’s an honor for me to fight in this great resort town. I will give my best in the ring and hope everyone enjoys a great night of boxing”, said Chavez Jr., who is ranked number #3 by the WBC at 154 pounds.
Brito also announced that Yuiorkis Gamboa will defended his WBA interim super featherweight title for the first time, Giovany Segura will also defended his WBA Interim Miniflyweight title on the same night. Local hero Alberto “Topo” Rosas is also expected to be part of the card.
The local authorities hope that this event put them in the forefront as a vacation destination in Mexico and hope to show everyone what the “Riviera Nayarit” is all about.
Chavez Jr. will be in Los Angeles this Thursday for another press conference, along with Gamboa to announced the big card. Chavez Jr. is expected to then drive to Big Bear, California to train for this fight under the guidance of Romulo Quirarte Sr.
Chavez Jr. has being working out with the Velocity crew in Los Angeles for three weeks and will also have their trainer from Velocity in Big Bear to supervise his nutrition and physical training much as Phil Landman does with world champion Miguel Cotto.
“I want to be better, stronger and faster and will be looking to improve in every way that I can”, said Chavez Jr., who will also have his uncles, Rodolfo Chavez and Miguel Molleda with him in Big Bear.

Another fight with a retired nurse on PPV. Want to bet it will be competitive and he will have another trilogy?

Just like his father, only difference is that he needs controversial decisions with the nurses, cabdrivers and kindergarten drop outs he's looking to go 100-0 fighting. His father needed it when he stepped up.

the only way i will ever buy a JCC jr PPV is if the cab drivers and bums he fights all take a number and take turns fighting him on the same night while all wearing their work clothes in a last man standing match type of scenario.
