Agreed except for the favourite part. Him 41 and 0 with barely a body in Duddy. Jr and his little brother Omar. The two most coddled fighters since Hector Comacho Jr. I hope Alfonso pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

The complete polorazing attitudes on here concerning JR and Alvarez astound me..... Most of the views on here concerning these two fighters, and this matchup, seem a bit on the ingorant side, IMO. I suppose we will see, however if i was JR and i was planning on fighting Saul, i would try to do it soon before he gets any bigger, stronger, and better. Not a chance Saul treats JR like the bum half of you think he is.... that fight would be competetive if it takes place within the next 6-9 months.

Would be quite an exciting affair, but I doubt it happens.... highly, highly doubt it.

    IMO.

This would be a terrific fight right now.

Canelo has more upside and is rich with gifts, but he's young, raw, and his skills are not yet there. Every fighter hits him without to much difficulty, and his speed and punch selection leave much to be desired.

He's a future champ, a Juan Diaz type who is coming into his own young and looks to be the goods, but remember, he may also pull a Juan Diaz and flame out.

If this fight is made in the next year, Chavez Jr., the weaker physical entity but the better schooled fighter, would be competitive. I see a close decision for Alvarez.

When Canelo hits his stride in 2012-2013, its a wipeout.

Chavez Jr's next fight is gonna be against ALFONZO GOMEZ at middleweight!!!!!!! Chavez is a joke until proven other wise and pulling out of the Cotto fight to fight Gomez who is at best a fringe contender at 147 at 160???

Alveraz just fought the former undisputed welterweight champion of the world plus one of the best chins in the sport and he knocked him cold. Yes Baldomir is well past it but it's still better then anything Chavez has done yet. Baldomir might beat Duddy if they fought now.

Actually the article quotes Chavez as saying that Alvarez fought a good fight, but that you also have to take into account the version of Baldomir he faced.......

From a personal standpoint, I dont like Chavez Jr. who I am a fan of to negatively critique the performances of what may be his future opponent.

At the time being, Canelo is also an opponent of Chavez for the most popular young fighter in Mexico, but it does'nt sound like Chavez Jr. to me to be critiqueing Canelo.......

"Tell me who you hang with, and I will tell you who you are."
Thats an old saying that rings true in many walks of life.

Chavez Jr. is now hanging around and being trained by loud mouthed egotistical maniacs over at the Wild Card Gym.......
He's certainly going to get better under the tutelege of Roach, but God help Chavez Jr. that the egotistical mindset of both Roach and Ariza does'nt rub off on him.

If that article did'nt get lost in translation which is a good possibility, it sounds like some of the crap that Roach and Ariza spew is already rubbing off on Jr.:?
