Chavez Jr is retired. Him and Ward take fishing trips together discussing the good old days of their boxing careers.

    Chavez is over rated ****

he beat Andy Lee yet got beat up by Brian Vera

and as average a guy like Andy Lee is, thats Chavezs best win of his career :-(

Sergio beat the .shi.t out of him in every round except part of rd 12. and it out weighed him by 20 pounds
hes lazy , inactive and not a factor

I do think him vs Fonfara would be a great fight.

It'd be a mild upset if he ever makes 168 again, let alone 160.

    nah...chavez turned down a 2 fight deal for 12-17mil.

he ain't going to get anywhere close of that fighting on showtime against haymon's boys.

Chavez has a very high opinion of himself he is a spoiled rich kid after all, so he thinks he's worth a ton of cash, and probably is worth more than Arum was paying him, so he probably thinks he'll get some Floyd or Canelo type deal through Haymon, I didn't say it wasn't misguided though.

Exactly. I actually like Jr, but his stock is going down the longer he waits to enter the ring.

I dont think so. After his mostly lop sided loss to Martinez and the weed fiasco he came back and pulled in the highest rated boxing event on TV(at least on HBO).
And that match was bombarded with controversy yet the rematch came close to the same numbers.
Inactivity doesnt really kill a fighters drawing power. This is one of the reasons why Floyd pulled in massive PPV numbers for so many years.

His fans are now paying twice as much on his fights on a yearly basis and will skip a fight here and there.

The last two Chavez fights I have watched are the ones where he got his head boxed off by Martinez and the one where he got a gift against Vera. If Andt Lee's success proves something then surely how shot Martinez has looked since does as well.

Brian Vera in reality holds a win over Chavez and Andy Lee, even though both beat him in rematches. All 3 of them are on roughly the same level.

Chavez is a bit of a hard case at middle weight, easily out boxed but hard to KO and dangerous due to his massive size advantage but at 168lbs he doesn't bring much at all since his biggest advantage at 160 which was size, is greatly diminished.

His stock will rise when he starts to fight in the ring.
