You do know that Oct. 10th (of this year) is on a Monday, right? Are they gonna fight on WWE Monday Night Raw?

    Chavez beats Rubio down. IMO.

As far as the "protection" goes, Blame Arum not Chavez.
Besides he just won the belt tonight, At least let's wait and see..

Martinez controls distance MUCH better than Zbik, though. Chavez may never get his chances to infight and go to the body.

Who else has Chavez faced that is a mover/outside boxer that's remotely near world class level?

Almost all his biggest wins have been come-forward brawler types. Certainly his last several before Zbik.

Before that, the best boxer he'd faced was Carlos Molina (who held him to a draw and a majority decision, at a time when Molina had 9 pro bouts and Chavez had 23!!)

i'm sure chavez wants to fight the best and i sincerely hear it in his tone of voice before the fight when he said he doesn't want to live off his dad but arum sees dollars signs with this kid. and if rubio catches chavez with the shots the zbik did, it's over. the only thing you can say is that zbik's hand speed is way above rubio.

Cotto has lost something alright. If he wasn't shot he would be all over JC JR. Thing is he is shot and Jr. would bend him over now. For that matter so would Zbic.

first off i can't even imagine cotto carrying 160 well. he'd be too slow. and he's like 5'7.

? is, will he ever be?? IMO, that's very unlikely to happen in the next 28 years, 4 months and 5 days..... and that's an October 10.... on a Monday as well!!
 I'D REALLY love to make a lifetime ESB-ban bet on that one with you.... LMK if u r interested in case of this fight ever happenning! Biggest drawback Cotto has had since Marg is called Steward. Steward is senile to be training at a top level on this sport, be it Miguel, Dawson, Pancho Cara'e Queso or whomever!
:admin...u forgot to say " just joking, guys" at the end of your statement.

I think Rubio beats him, but that might be the most competitive fight to put him in against. He beats Rubio, then you can match him with Martinez.

    Rubio is a blue-collar, tough-assed boxer.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to boxrec... they often blow their load too early
