Good luck to Murray but I think Chavez overwhelms him with his workrate.

How come British (and Irish) MWs are in demand all of a sudden? This is Murray's second title shot, Macklin's getting his second shot this week, Barker would have got another shot against Pirog but got injured.

Shame they're not fighting each other but that can be excused as they're taking on world class opposition.

All of a sudden we have a bit of a scene going I just hope that along the way somebody can pick up a belt somewhere. I hope we get to see them fight each other at some point. Maybe once all this title shot malarky has settled down or when one has a title.

He'll have to be a lot better than he was against Sturm to take the happy belt home.

Murray's only hope really is if Chavez comes in unfocused again. Even though I think Chavez's size and workrate are going to the key here.

Let's be frank he'd need to KO him to win - and JCCJr's beard seems pretty decent to me.

    Chavez clear and comfortable decision.

Different fight than Sturm. I see Chavez being too big and too strong. Damn Chavez fight a more credible challenger, not someone coming off a loss.

i don't want to turn this into an anti-Fwank thread, but how many of our middleweights would have had a world title fight by now under FW Promotions? Not including interim bollocks obv.

Who's coming off of a loss?

  12. Chavez will beat him fair and square, and win a lopsided decision.

Murray was better than I expected him to be against Sturm but was still a loser on my card.

It's a shame there's no chance of Chavez vs Sturm, neither will take the risk of travelling abroad for fear of being ripped off - though this is a legitimate gripe in Sturm's case.

Both sub par boxers but one is improving and seems to actually try and punch hard. I think Chavez Jr "fight" gets to Murray and Murray mentally wilts and that shows in his performance which will be okay but not enough.
