I was rooting for Vera so i might be a bit biased but i had Vera by a round or two. But Chavez landed the harder shots. But still, i thiught Vera won the fight. Vera was the aggressor and effective. Chavez almost pulled a slick bkxer roll. Sitting back and just pot shotting most of the fight.
Vera landed 176 punches to Chavez's 125, though Jr did land the harder shots, but he was clearly outboxed the 98-92 scorecard astounds me, how could anyone give Jr the first 2 rounds, where didn't do ****? atsch:rofl
Clearly they just tick the rounds off at random, as long as Chavez ends up with more than the other guy it's all good #boxing
I scored the fight for Vera, 96-94 points. Having seen the scorecards on Boxing Scene, I actually agreed the most with Denkin's 97-93 score, at least he "only" differed from me by giving Chavez the 2nd, 4th, and 5th rounds. I genuinely doubt Adair or Caiz bothered to watch the fight, they just ticked off round after round for Chavez, Adair early, Caiz late. I really hope the California State Athletic Commission suspends these judges pending investigations.
I rewatched this AM and scored it it for Chavez by a rd. Last night I had Chavez by 2.:huh Although......Vera proved his grit in there last night and has nothing to hang his head low about. He defo deserves a rematch at 168, and better split of the purse for his troubles.:think
