Sorry if it's been done but I'm excited for this one. I think their two styles will make for a great fight. Canelo is the better boxer but he's always relied on his size to a certain extent and his gas tank sometimes goes a bit flat.

Chavez Jr's biggest fault is he's often appeared to seem a bit lazy in his career compared to other fighters at his level but he really seems to be focused for this fight. Can't be written off in this one.

Don't know who to pick I know Canelo is probably where the smart money is but I can't help but feel size will be a factor in this one. If Chavez Jr shows some heart in this one I think he can take it, I know some of his performances may have seemed a bit lacking in recent years but would Canelo really do much better at LHW in your opinion?

So I guess my pick is Chavez Jr either late or on points close. I guess it all depends how well Canelo's stamina holds up because he does have a good chin and I do see him picking up the early rounds with his superior speed and skills but I think Chavez Jr has the chin and and size to survive and if he really puts it on him hard from the start he could force Canelo to gas he could be there to be stopped late.

Maybe I'm a dreamer but considering Chavez JR's reach, size, chin, plus a good preparation and Beristain in his corner I see a competitive fight with him as the winner.

Canelo, competitive for a while then he takes over and wins a 117-111 or 116-112 type of comfortable decision.

Canelo won't gas. He is finally fighting in his own weight class and won't have to cut an ungodly amount of weight - you'll see the sharpest, fastest, freshest cinnamon of all time.

    Jr is getting outboxed.

JCC Jr is too big and I expect him to take Canelo's head off
Canelo is a low out put sharp shooter, his style is suited to a bloke fleet of foot.
He has gotten away with his low out put because he hits hard enough that the blokes he fights are intimidated and drop their out put as well.

JCC Jr will walk through Canelo's best shots, don't get it twisted Fonfara hits harder than any middleweight let alone Canelo a 154lbs fighter!!!

Canelo cuts less than half the top tier blokes @ 154 IMO, so I totally doubt him having the extra weight will improve his freshness and stamina, I just don't think he has a good tank and JCC Jr looks in great shape.

I see Canelo taking an early lead just because he has great hand speed an JCC Jr is a slow starter but when Jr warms up Canelo will wilt.

Oscar isnt stupid, he chooses Canelo opponants very carefully. If Chavez was in good form, good fitness and able to make what ever this catchweight is without too much of a problem this fight would never of happened. Oscar predicts his man will be facing a near empty shell of a fighter whilst painting him as a monster that brave Canelo will overcome.

Cherry picks do go wrong. But most of the time they dont.

Jr.'s just not very good. Supposedly he is serious now. But he will still have all the judges against him. Gotta go with Canelo on this one.

Canelo vs GGG is already slotted in as the next big Boxing Superfight,
and the judges and Referee candidates have been told as much.

I would like to see a good fight. So I will root for Chavez. Early camp report suggest that he is highly motivated and in great shape. I hope he can provide Canelo a scare or two. But realistically Chavez best performance was over 5 years ago.
Too much at stake for the golden boy camp. Canelo UD.

Canelo will finally be at full strength and Jr will be drained. That said, I do expect a win for Alvarez, but a close one, and maybe even controversial.
Despite the lack of skill from Chavez, he still can put on a tremendous amount of pressure, waring his opponents down in the process. Canelo isn't used to fight opponents bigger than him, so let's see how that goes.

If Chavez's camp does well in preparations (i.e. stamina, strength conditioning, game plan) then yes, he has a good chance.
    I pick him for SD.

I predict a Canelo close UD.

I think we will see an excellent version of Chavez Jr, weight notwithstanding, who will cause Canelo plenty of problems with his pressure. But Canelo is a bit quicker, is the better boxer, and is pretty tough to KO.
