    I will admit I'm one of the biggest doubters of kelly Pavlik and even though he's pulled off a couple of nice victories... Never beleived in him much.
    I would love to see this fight though if Pavlik were in any kind of decent shape right now. With Pavliks punching power, and Chavez Jr's. willingness to eat leather and come forward...
    How does this fight go down?

    PAVLIK vs CHAVEZ JR.. would be another war...eventually, pavlik would find a mark for that one one two and melt Chavez late...

    Right now it's a pick em fight. One fighter on the rise and the other on the slide. Not much of a look on Pavlik and he hasn't faced serious competition in a while so I'd favor Chavez Jr.

    In his prime, Pavlik by SD. Chavez Jr. has a solid chin and will get his punches in bunches. Pavlik also has a solid chin, but a little more power. Definitely a war that will favor quality over quantity.

    Pavlik by stoppage. Kelly is a magnitude faster than Rubio and hits harder. If Kelly doesn't get an inside game I suppose Chavez could keep him smothered, but he would pay for getting inside. Clips coming out seem to indicate Garcia has him working a little more on the inside game.

    Billy Lyell went the distance with Jr. Billy was standing next to me at Jack Loew's am card last night so I took the opportunity to talk to him a bit. He walks around at 163. Jr couldn't stop a guy whose preferred weight is 154 and could make 147. (At least he told me he could) Jr ain't gonna get Kelly's respect and Kelly's defense is under rated here. Kelly's punches will accumulate enough damage that he would stop Jr. I just can't see it any other way unless Kelly fscks up in training.

    A prime Pavlik would beat Junior. Too many questions surrounding the current Pavlik to make a prediction

    Chavez is too easy to find and Pavlik hits way too hard and throws way too many punches.
    I think even the Pavlik of the Martinez fight would stop Chavez jr tbh.

    But the Pavlik of his last fight would lose i think, no idea about the current Garcia version.

    If we're talking about pavlik when he fought at 160 comfortably,
    then this is a non-issue. Kelly would have the range on junior and
    find him all night. Jr would accomodate Kelly about as much as Rubio
    accomodated him. Unless jr has his dad's chin, and we don't know the
    answer to that question yet, then Kelly bloodies and stops him in 8.
